At Ambler we aim to create an environment where all children’s views and perspectives are listened to, valued and acted upon. This helps make a positive difference and encourages a sense of mutual responsibility and inclusivity.
The children elect representatives from each class to the School Council, which participates in decision making on many aspects of school life. Pupil mentors help to settle disputes and ensure that no one feels left out at playtime, while other children have a variety of roles and responsibilities to engage them in the running of the school.
All children participate in weekly class discussions about school life and wider current affairs.
“Pupils listen respectfully when their classmates are speaking so they can hear different viewpoints.” Ofsted report 2012
