Science Museum pays Ambler pupils a visit with spectacular show

11 May Science Museum pays Ambler pupils a visit with spectacular show

Ambler Primary School was very fortunate to have the Science Museum visit us recently, putting on a variety of spectacular shows for our pupils.

The workshops took place during ‘Science and Sustainability Week‘ and focused on understanding the world around us through scientific inquiry.

The children from Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 thoroughly enjoyed themselves during the sessions, which complemented our curriculum.

Pupils from Year 1 and 2 took part in an interactive storytelling of The Three Little Pigs, helping to choose the best material to build a strong house that will keep them safe from the big bad wolf.

The storytellers incorporated scientific vocabulary linked to the topic into the show, including ways of describing the properties of the materials.

Children from Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 took a closer look at the forces that shape our world, with some of them even being invited up to the front of the hall to take part in exciting experiments.

Mr McGahern and Mr Fitzgerald also make a special appearance in some of the photos below – can you spot them?!
